Problems & Solutions encountered by the Community
-
Common Problems (political, environmental, economic, etc.) of the people in the community as perceived by the community people.
-
The community to this date continues to encounters common problems such as political, environmental, economics etc. There are a lot of causes of these problems, one being that people by nature are stubborn. Being undisciplined and loud categorically is a degenerative disease. Since money matters most, poverty, small scale crimes such as robbery and stealing, debts, drugs, underemployment, unemployment, lack of education, unorganized routine service of our government agencies and corruption are the root causes of sabotaging economy.

Plan of action or action taken by the community people and by the students (youth in their community)
-
It is our foremost hope, to be able to come up with plan of actions. These are suggestions, ideas and analysis taken by the member of the community and students concerned. The community services empowered by the government, barangay and NGOs to strategically reach out to the poorest of poor in the community. Job fairs, foreign investors, fund raising activities such as barangay contests, good governance which should be enhanced by more leadership programs, curfew hours impose, scholarships, strict security systems, rehabilitation of drug addicts and therapy for the street children (especially "HAMOGS) will be put into action and should be implemented at once. It is our deepest hope, a 100% success rate will be yielded.
-
Unified feeding programs with the help and support from the local government, this could lessen malnourishment. A fund raising activity, youth oriented concert, showing off their talents and competing with other schools. A spiritual retreat with DLSZ and the diocese. This will include catechism, church services, laity programs, music ministry and medical missions. It is the greatest advocacy of any men to improve human dignity.

Community participation in decision-making process regarding the community affairs and problems
-
We would need the participation of the community and their approval before we do anything about it. We would also need them to cooperate since this is for their own good and the outcome of our proposals, if approved, would greatly benefit them. It is still their decision if they want to push through with these changes since it is their community although we do believe that our proposals would do great for them.

Parallelism of the situation of the community in our community worker, leader, or organizer in the community building
-
DLSZ and Sun Valley are two very different communities. Sun Valley is a barangay composed of many subdivisions. On the other hand, Zobel is a school community composed of different batches of students. Despite these differences, they have similar functions and problems as a community

Traffic Management System
-
DLSZ’s Traffic system has been a conflicting issue between the school and the AAV community for a while now. AAV is complaining about the volume of cars entering the village causing traffic and air pollution. To solve this issue, DLSZ and AAV have agreed to have a higher priced sticker that enables non-residents to enter the village. From one sticker being around P1,000, the increased price in now at around P3,000 and you can only avail of the said sticker if you are carpooling. To monitor this, when you apply for a sticker, you have to have to have the signatures of the parents involved in the carpool on the form for the sticker. This would lessen the amount of cars going in the village every morning and afternoon. Connected to DLSZ’s traffic problem, Sun Valley also has a high volume of cars and they have small roads. That causes the build-up and congestion of cars in the said area. We propose to have a number coding scheme in the area to reduce the volume of cars on the road at the same time. Also, we propose the widening of roads in Sun Valley

Overpopulation
-
It is known that DLSZ is overpopulated. AAV is only allowing DLSZ student cap of 3,800 students, but, DLSZ has a total population of 4,200. With this said, it is obvious that DLSZ is overpopulated. If the population increases, then it would cause even more traffic in the village and there won’t be enough infrastructure to accommodate everyone. Sun Valley is comparable to the 16th densest city in the world. The population of Sun Valley is really big and the total land area is small for its population.

Waste Segregation
-
DLSZ teaches all students CLAYGO (clean as you go) wherein students keep their areas clean and segregate properly. DLSZ has trash bins located all around the school with labels Biodegradable, Non-Biodegradable, and Recyclable. Unfortunately, some people do not comply with this and CLAYGO and segregation is not practiced. This would lead to a messy and unpleasant environment and people do not like that.
Sun Valley is said to be a community that practices segregation, although, we observed that the community is still messy. Like we mentioned earlier, no one likes a messy environment. Like DLSZ, we propose our SegreBlock and we really do hope that the citizens of the community actively participate with this project.
